Raise your hand if you've never procrastinated.... Don't worry, I'll wait.
Procrastination is one of the top self-sabotaging/defeating behaviors out there. What is self-sabotage/defeating behavior you ask... "behaviors or actions that deter or stop us from meeting our goals" (Justice). These can include procrastination, negative self talk, worry, comparison, physical self-harming, reliance on substances and comfort eating just to name a few.
There are many factors that play into why we continuously fall into these behaviors, some we know and others are subconscious. Personally, worrying is something that I struggle with and it can definitely impede my process and progress. Being mindful of what your triggers are is the first step into addressing the behavior. While being mindful is key, it is not enough.
We have to be courageous take action to find a healthier way to address our particular situations. Sooooooo if you need to rap to yourself in the mirror like cousin Issa then "go for it, go for it, go... ho for it ho for it ho"... Well not really... you get the reference.
